Each year, from November 25th to December 10th, non-governmental organization Cultural-Humanitarian Fund "Sukhumi” joins international informational campaign aimed at elimination of all forms of Violence Against Women. This year campaign is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the United Nations’ formal recognition of November 25th as International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The theme of the campaign is "Commit, Act, Demand:We CAN End Violence Against Women!” During 16 active days Fund "Sukhumi” will carry out measures around Western Georgia. Within the framework of the campaign there will be conducted: |
Meetings with beneficiaries, different groups of societies, meetings of Clubs of Women-Voters, open civil debates, action – "No to violence” – round tables in the cities of Western Georgia, transmission of social video clips and audio rolls in Kutaisi, Batumi, Zugdidi, Ozurgeti, TV and radio discussion on regional Mass Media, issuance of bulletin, Grant Contest for young women-peacemakers, pen-maraphon for young journalists, performances of the youth forum-theatre.
Our informational-educational campaign covers more than 5000 beneficiaries and aims to remind everyone – universal human rights do not exist without women’s rights; all democratic states have international obligations for gender equality; Society should realize fully that Violence Against Women and children is evil.
