Cultural-Humanitarian Fund "Sukhumi”

   

 

Since 22 to 26 of March representatives of Fund “Sukhumi” – Alla Gamakharia and Meri Gelashvili were in Israel. They were in Jerusalem, Haifa and Tel Aviv.  
The objective of the trip was to exchange work experience and establish partner relations with women’s organizations of Israel. 
During four days they visited three organizations working in the sphere of peacemaking, gender violence against women. 
They visited organization “Ishe le Isha” (Haifa Feminist Centre), which works on strengthening of mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence of women of Israel despite nationality, belief, social and economic condition. 
They had interesting conversation with the coordinator of project on the fight against trafficking in women – Rita Chaikin. 
- «At the meeting with Rita we had possibility to learn more not only about organization “Ishe le Isha” but also “Mashav”, learned about common principles of the “new complex law of Israel on the issues of trafficking”, submitted at the OSCE conference on the issues of illegal trafficking with the purpose of labor exploitation”.  
In Haifa representatives of Fund met with Hannah Safran whom they introduced several years ago at the meeting of the organizations of the Southern Caucasus of Kvinna till Kvinna network. 
She told not only about her work with society but also about the joint work with Nabilla Espanioly Staying in Jerusalem representatives of Fund also acquainted with the work of the “Centre of Cooperation and Advancement”. 
The meetings will surely have positive results since there was initiated continuation of business relations between organizations.
