A training for TV and radio journalists (KTK)

On the 14th May at the office of the fund “Sukhumi” was conducted a training for TV and radio journalists on the topic “Destroying of patriarchal stereotypes existing in media”. The training was attended by journalists of various television and radio companies, students of the faculty of journalism. - “Media really reflects the reality existing in society, but to be more self-critical sometimes it asserts certain stereotypes, and it is first of all, concerns women. Media should promote healthy, positive attitudes to social and political activity of women - was told at the training. After the training is planned to hold the contest for the best radio and television plots. The winners will be awarded prizes. Within the framework of the same project on the 18th of May was held a training for journalists of printing media, which was devoted to the destruction of stereotypes that exist in Georgian society and are reflected in media. The training was interesting. It was attended by journalists of different magazines, newspapers, and students. It was interesting to overview press, which reflected stereotypical attitudes towards women: “Stagnation of an enterprise is inevitable, because it is clear that for women leaders it would be difficult to calculate an economic indicator”, - there were lots of such excerpts from newspapers. Through practical tasks participants tried to destroy stereotypes and mentioned that every journalist should start destroying patriarchal stereotypes from separate articles, which generally lead to the desired result.
The contest has also been declared for representatives of the printing media. Materials should be submitted before July 10.
