- We are the generation that does not hold malice in their hearts to the Abkhazians. That is why we believe that we can establish relations with them - these words were told at one of the meetings.
Girls-leaders held a regular workshop in Vani, in the hotel “Argo”. The topic of consideration was “The role of women in peacemaking and conflict resolution”. The workshop was attended by IDP young women as well as locals.
Young girls raised many interesting questions during the discussion: how the conflict affects to women, why women should participate in peace processes.
In response to the questions raised, the participants gave the logical arguments:
“Conflict suppresses the freedom of each woman, making her a victim. Therefore, she has the right to engage actively in the peacebuilding and negotiation process”.
The participants of the meeting expressed their desire to establish relations with Abkhaz peers and talked about the role of the youth in peacemaking activities.
