National consultations on issues of IDPs

On the 23rd of June in Tbilisi, hotel Vere Palace were hold national consultations of the parties interested by the issues of integration and legal protection of internally displaced persons in Georgia.
The meeting was opened by the Ministry of Refugees and Accommodation Mr. Koba Subeliani, Mr. Per Eklund (Head of the European Commission Delegation to Georgia), Mr. Peter Nicolaus (Special representative of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Georgia).
In the national consultations participated: Mr. Christopher Bervirt (Head of the Legal Service, Tbilisi Department), Mr. Valeri Kopaleishvili (Representative of the Ministry of Refugees and Accommodation), Mrs. Edina Stipichevich-Dziho (Senior Consultant on Legal Issues, Tbilisi Department), representatives of non-governmental organizations, and Mrs. Meri Gelashvili from Fund “Sukhumi”.
The work was carried out in four groups:
Profitable legal environment – process of legal support of documentation
Protection from violence and exploitation
Basic needs and services
Participation of society and self-government, long-term solution
