“Peacebuilding crisis and women’s view on the ways of overcoming this crisis” – this topic was considered on the 27th of July in Tskhaltubo, at the Round table meeting organized by Fund “Sukhumi” in sanatorium “Medea”. Participants of the meeting were women IDPs from Abkhazia, experts, representatives of government and non-governmental organizations. It was mentioned at the meeting that there is not a coordinated work between the government and non-governmental organizations.
An expert Alu Gamakharia did not agree with the opinion that there is a peacebuilding crisis. “Crisis is in political process at the level of government and not at the level of people. Meetings at non-official level continue. Those who travelled to Abkhazia before, do it now too. There are many resources in peacebuilding.Until there is even one contact with Abkhazians, we can not talk about peacebuilding crisis”.
It was also mentioned that it’s necessary to activate all peacemaking resources since any relations with Abkhaz side are of special importance.
