Cultural-Humanitarian Fund "Sukhumi”

A regular meeting with young women was held in the collective centre “Medea” in Tskhaltubo. 9 young women IDPs participated in the meeting.

The topic of the meeting  - women’s rights, domestic violence, international documents, important from the point of view of women’s rights protection – the UN Resolution 1325 and 1820, Beijing Platform.

In the opinion of the youth, knowledge of these documents is very important for them.

The meeting coincided with the International Week of Peace what made the considered topics more interesting. There were live discussions about the ways of solution of the conflict. A peacemaking message was sounded expressing the mood of the youth. During the meeting participants also discussed the problem of domestic violence.

The participants were given literature containing more detailed information about the considered issues. Girls expressed wish for participating in the future meetings too.
