Network meeting in the school # 4 of Khoni

The second regional network meeting was held on December 11th in the school # 4 of Khoni with the purpose of successful implementation of the long-term State programme on IDPs and accommodation and provision of active participation of the organized IDP groups in this program. The meeting was held within the framework of the projects "Durable solutions – A way forward for IDPs in Georgia” (financed by Sida) and "Joint solutions are durable solutions – steps forward to solution of the IDP issue in Georgia” (financed by EC). It was organized by partner organizations – Cultural-Humanitarian Fund "Sukhumi” and "Future Development House”. Participants of the meeting were: a representative of Imereti department of the Ministry on IDPs and Accommodation V. Babunashvili, a lawyer from the Association of Young Lawyers T. Pachulia, a representative of Abkhaz government T. Tsulaia, D. Tamaz-ogli, I. Tsipiani, representatives of the local self government of Samtredia A. Barbakadze, B. Lomidze, representatives of DRC N. Kharaishvili, Eter Kamarauli, initiative IDP groups. In total 39 persons. Participants of the meeting discussed the problems, revealed in the process of IDPs’ accommodation and tried to find the ways out. During the meeting there was mentioned good organization and information of HAG, what helped them to solve many problems. But despite this there are many other problems connected with the shortage of information, quality of building materials, terms, standard living area and money compensation. The issue whether there will be kept the principle of social justice, what is directly connected with the issue of civil self-consciousness, was especially painful. Here the problem should be solved only through coordinated work of initiative groups of IDPs and different state structures. Network meetings will be continued within the framework of the project.
