By the initiative of the Fund "Sukhumi", in the resort town of Ureki was held a two-day pen-marathon. It the marathon participated 15 young journalists (student of the journalistic faculty, beginner journalists).
The workshop gave participants an opportunity to think over the equality of men and women, the role of women in family and in society.
At the end of the workshop participants were given the task. According to the program, they should have written papers on the topic – “Place of woman”.
The work was interesting. On the terrace, in the hotel room, in the yard, on the beach, on the stairs, in the shade under a tree ... young journalist worked independently during the day and searched for "Place of woman".
At nine o'clock in the evening 15 papers were submitted to the competitive commission.
Woman - in the family, in society, abroad, woman - a mother, successful, unsuccessful, worthy ... Participants found the "Place of woman" in a different perspective and status.
As a result of the contest were selected three best papers, the authors of which were awarded interesting literature.
The first place was awarded to Khatia Jangavadze. In her paper she speaks about the equality of men and women. The author says that "woman was created from man's rib. Not from his feet to be humiliated, and not from his head to dominate him, but from the side, to be close and equal to him”.
The owner of the second place Ani Oniani in her letter, "Notes of woman" emphasizes the fact that woman should be free in her choice. The story about a woman - prostitute tells us that woman is worthy of a better life, and she should fight to take a deserved place.
The third place was awarded to Mariam Iobidze. Her work shows an actual problem - woman who goes abroad to earn money. The letter ends very pessimistically. The woman does not find her "place" neither in the family nor in society.
The papers showed that the youth’s statement in connection with this topic is courageous and fundamental.
They believe that woman, first of all, should be free in her choice, and only then she will find her place in the family and in the society.
